Just a quick blog!
It is Friday and I am continuing to get ready/pack for our trip out East. Our plan is to leave tomorrow at approximately 6am, arriving in Toronto around 730. We are picking up a rental car at the airport and then dropping off our car at Pat's aunt's house in Mississauga. Then we will be on our way, arriving at our destination probably very late, early the next day.
It's going to be an interesting trip because we will be travelling with little Freyja. I don't think she's old enough to be on her own yet. Also, I like to keep an eye on her because she only had surgery 2 weeks ago. She's still healing. Anyway, travelling 17 hours with a 6 mos. kitten. Well...wish us luck.
Here are a couple of pictures of Freyja and her new sweater. We got it for her because we will be travelling to New Brunswick with her in the car and if we have to stop for bathroom breaks and such, we want her to be warm. She actually hates it and it is for a small dog and slightly too big for her so she can get out of it. So we'll just have to see how it goes. Maybe Mona will inherit it! Good thing they are both girls.
Here is Freyja right after her surgery. You can see her tummy scar. It's actually almost completely healed at this time but will take some time for all the tummy fur to grow back. We are really happy with our vet here. He is a real animal lover and you can tell that everytime he sees my cats. Although he is a little scared of Slick!
Even though she had just had surgery, it did not slow her down ONE BIT! Much to Slick's chagrin.

House Pics 1
Because I've been promising for ages...I finally have some house pics for you.
Here is our new bathroom. It's the only room that I could actually consider done. It needs a paint job and some pics on the wall but other than that it is complete.
The vanity is huge. It's about 6 feet long which is ENORMOUS. I also have a lot of closet space which is essential. The house is small so we are using up every available space in it, which is good.
On with the photos. I'm not labelling them but I'm pretty sure y'all can figure out what is what.

Is it the Ides of March yet?
So.
It turns out that bowling *is* fun but only if you get to watch your 2 year old nephew chase his bowling ball down the lane and throw bowling balls down other people's lanes. Then it's downright hi-larious.
Freyja is recovering well from her surgery. I'm spoiling her rotten, even going as far as to sleep with her in the spare room so she won't be lonely and/or cold. She's decided that I am a cat too and has taken to trying to groom my hair while I'm sleeping. Which...just no.
The Welcome Wagon came to our house last night bringing us all kinds of goodies. It was very exciting. 3 free toothbrushes! Just the night before I'd told Pat that I needed a new toothbrush. Oh universe. So wily! It's piles of cash that I really need. MOUNDS OF IT!
But seriously, she brought us many gift certificates! And the lady was very nice and she loved the cats and even brought treats for them so they loved her right back. And then they climbed in her basket. And she found that very amusing and then we were like, look lady it's 9pm. Time to go. I kid!
Nothing else new to report. The economy stinks. My job search continues. I had a great visit with my family but I couldn't really say any different because they ALL READ THIS!!! HAHAHAHahahahaha...ha.............ha.

Almost March
Yo.
I changed the name of my blog due to what I consider the increasing tiny-ness of the interwebs.
I have a blog here and then there is facebook and then there are various other places where I hang my hat and things were starting to feel cramped and exposed at the same time.
So now I have a little more anonymity and only the people I want to be here will be here. I hope.
And almost no one is going to really understand the last three paragraphs. In which case, the rest of this is for you!
UPDATES!
Weekend Update:
Pat and I are off to Sudbury for the weekend. It was Rodney's birthday on the 25th and we are going up to celebrate it with him this weekend. Except not the bowling part because I despise bowling. The only thing good about bowling is that you can drink there but in that case let's just go somewhere and drink. Hate. Bowling.
I'm looking forward to seeing my family however. Yay family!
March Break Update:
It looks like we are 90% going to the East coast for the break to visit Diane and Marla. Our plan is to drive the entire way in one shot. It's about 15-16 hours which we did with no problem when we used to drive from Fort to Sudbury for major holidays. I'm excited. Diane and Marla came to see us over Christmas this year. And I appreciate the effort that it took to do that.
Easter Update:
We're going to be out of town. Details to follow.
Cat Update:
Freyja just came home from getting spayed and declawed. She seems to be doing great. She will come with us to Sudbury for the weekend. My mom loves having her around and she loves my mom's dog so somehow it all works out.
Slick's health is improving. He was having some various serious health issues around Christmas. He pulled out all the hair on his stomach. He was taking anti-anxiety pills daily. He also had some bad results in his blood tests. Since then we have changed his food, he is down to taking anti-anxiety medication every second day and some of his hair has grown back. He needs to have more blood tests next month and we are hoping for positive results.
The Cheat is The Cheat. She's lost a little bit of weight but otherwise continues to be the cat with the least amount of problems, must be because of her super cool name!
Job Update:
Nothing yet but I am currently waiting to hear about a job that I am *VERY* interested in so please send thoughts/prayers/vibes. Whatever.
Also, I have another job thingee that I'm not going to talk about yet but I am also *VERY* excited about this. It's sort of a collaboration project that will prove fruitful for all parties involved. I'm very optimistic.
Pat:
Pat continues to love his job. He has a volleyball tournament tonight which sucks because IT'S FRIDAY! But today is the last day so yay. His report cards are due on Monday and he is about 95% complete. So that's good since we are going away this weekend.

Tour of Unfinished House
This is a video that Pat did prior to the house being completed. I thought I would post it because I'm not quite ready to post pictures of the completed house as I'm still decorating and organizing. I thought I would post this because it gives you an idea about the house and it's a video but it's less fun that you might think. And look! I'm embeding! I'm a rockstar!

The Writing Update
Job:
I still haven't found a job but I'm applying for anything that sounds remotely interesting. I'm getting frustrated mostly because I have cabin fever and would like to be in a position where I can get out of the house on a semi-regular basis.
Pat's job is going great. He loves that he can walk to work. What a change from his last job!! A five minute walk vs. a 45 minute car ride. He's generally home by about 345 every day, which is so great! He is coaching volleyball this year and has 2 - 3 after school games a week and two before school practices so this has been keeping him busy since Christmas break. He has one weekend game on Saturday (Feb 21) and that almost completely wraps up the volleyball season.
He had a good week because all the buses were cancelled on Wednesday because of a small ice storm that went through here. Also, Friday was a PD day.
Valentine's Weekend
I already posted pictures of my terribly romantic gift from Pat but he also got me some beautiful earrings and mini roses. We had plans for a movie night out but I think we are actually going to go today (Monday).
We went to Ikea on Sunday and had a blast buying a few things for the house. I needed one more bookcase for the living room and a tv stand on which we are not putting a tv. The tv is mounted on the wall so the stand is just for the receiver and dvd player and some storage. I also got a few picture frames and slowly, slowly the house is coming together. I will be posting more house pictures here probably next weekend.
It still amazes me that we can go to Ikea for the day. That we can go to Toronto for the day. I LIVE HERE. Weird.
Travels
We plan on a quick trip to Sudbury the weekend of the 28th. It is my brother Rodney's 34th birthday and we are going up to celebrate that.
Other than that things are good. See you next week!

Valentine's Day Continued
Freyja was *VERY* interested in the heart string. Pat told me that he had to lock her up while he was making it because she was in constant attack mode. She is almost 5.5 months now and here are a couple of pictures of her from today. She is getting bigger all the time but she is such a cuddly kitten still.
Valentine's Day
I was going to update tomorrow because Sunday is typically my sit at computer and organize pictures and return emails and update day but we are going to Ikea. EEEEEE! LOVESIT!
So for Valentine's Day this is what Pat made me. There are about 40 hearts that all say something different on them. He strung them up in the basement where we have a lot of room and I could be surprised!! I was so surprised. What a romantic!!

Outtakes
These are some of the pictures that we didn't use for our Christmas photo. I like the one with the massive snowflake in my eye!
Cheesecake
Again, these date back to about November. She's grown up so much. It's amazing when I look back at these photos to think that she was this tiny. She still terrorizes the older cats, hourly. She's getting fixed at the end of the month.
Moving In
These pictures go back to November. This is our new kitchen. We were unpacking and as you can see the cats were *VERY* helpful.
On The Road
I'm going back in time a bit but I am currently re-organzing a bunch of my pictures so bear with me. This picture was taken in the hotel in Munising, Michigan as I was travelling to move to Penetanguishene. Travelling with 3 cats was not the smartest or most fun thing I've ever done.
